Feature & Follow Friday #14

Q: What is one book you would be nervous to see a movie adaptation of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

A: The book/movie One Day was a perfect example of this- I had to watch the movie because I was interested in how they would show the different years. Each chapter of the book takes place on the same day, but in a different year. And sometimes the years skip a few. I was not very impressed with the movie. They handled the timing well but the emotions from the book just weren't there.
A book that has not been made into a movie yet that I'm a bit worried about it of course my favorite, The Night Circus. I'm excited to see this one come to life but worried it won't be as amazing as the book. My fingers are crossed with this one.

What book to movie would you be worried about?

  1. Oh, I haven't watched or read One Day, but I sure will! The way you describe it, it sounds absolutely amazing! <3 I think I'm going to read it first though. I'm sorry that the movie can't match the book's awesomeness!

The Night Circus is on my TBR pile! I hope to read it soon! <3

  2. With books like that, they do really suck at keeping the emotions. ):
I think I have the night circus on my tbr pile. From just it's summary though, I can't see how they'd make a movie and not make it...suck.

  3. Haven't read/watched that. For me it's The Chaos Walking trilogy. It makes me really nervous.

  4. I've been dying to read the Night Circus, nice to know it's good :) As for One Day, I haven't read it but I know what you mean, I've read similar books that have been turned in to movies and have just been a total let down :/

  5. I watched One Day a few weeks ago and felt the same way that you did, that the emotions were lacking. I judt didn't get that pull from Emma and Dex like I did in the book.

  6. Hopping through. I think The Night Circus could be incredible, but most likely it wouldn't be. Too bad.
